The pearl of Axarquía

Cómpeta is known as the ‘wine capital’ of Axarquía. The sweet Moscatel wine, produced in the surrounding vineyards, is world-renowned. Every year on August 15th, the village celebrates the Noche del Vino, a traditional wine festival with flamenco, music, and of course… plenty of wine!
Hiking & nature
Surrounded by the beautiful Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama natural park, Cómpeta is the perfect base for hikers and nature lovers. Routes like the El Saltillo and Ruta de las Fuentes offer spectacular views of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.
